We have finally carried through with the changes that were discussed and announced to take place surrounding Read the Scriptures. We previously outlined the basics here: Coming Soon, and we have also sent out a Letter from our Founder, but now this email details the changes and opportunities for our current RtS members. As of April 24, 2013, Read the Scriptures has now switched to a subscription platform. (Originally this change was announced to take place in January.) This means that the current services offered through Read the Scriptures are no longer free, yet are available for only $4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year! (Family subscription rates will be available soon - if interested, Contact Us.) That's less than 17¢ a day! The subscription fee will enable you to use the syncing, scheduling and other features of both the website and app. If you don't already have our Read the Scriptures app, it will soon be available again to download for free (about 30 days from now for iPhone/iPad - Android coming soon after). For those of you who have already purchased the app, you will automatically be entitled to a free year of our services. Quoting the letter sent from the Read the Scriptures Founder: "Having a monthly income, much like we do with personal budgets, gives us the ability to do more and more for the website, app and future apps. We are not looking at stopping just with the features we have now or ideas we have today. We want to continue to improve and build upon the app and give it to all platforms to be obtainable by ALL." (Please note: the previously announced subscription price of $9.95 a month was changed to our current price of $4.99.) We are excited to move through this transition and hope you will join us! The first scheduled changes will be to the design of the website and the app. In this re-design we will also be adding more modern services to the site and app, including Facebook and Twitter integration and so on. Once our re-design is complete, we will begin to roll out new features and services we have mapped out for the website and the app, including releasing the app for Android. And as promised, we are not going to stop with just the basic features that are out there. We will be adding more and more creative and useful tools and content, such as more books, PDFs, magazines and offering additional languages. There are very few valuable church-related products or services available for free. Content, features and customer service will be our focus. We have had hundreds of emails and messages supporting us, for which we are grateful for your understanding and continuing support. Our apologies go out to those of you who may not be able to continue using our services because of the newly required subscription fee. There are many alternative ways to read your scriptures, and for so doing, we know you will be blessed.
