40 Day - April 2014 Conference

Are you up for an inspirational, life-changing challenge? Brother Rich Watson of the LDS General Conference Facebook page, created a "40 Days-40 Nights Challenge" that organizes the conference talks into a one-talk-a-day schedule. Quoting Br. Watson: "What I found is that listening to conference this way and then discussing that one talk with my wife gave me a much greater understanding of the message in EACH talk." We LOVE this idea and want to help support this challenge, so we implemented this schedule into Read the Scriptures! We now have it available as our 40 Days - April 2014 Conference reading selection. You can now enjoy the convenience of having each conference talk emailed to you each day! "I would challenge each of you to prayerfully consider joining my wife and me in this challenge. It is more than just reading or listening to one talk. It is making an effort to ponder on and discuss each talk to see how it can apply to you, your family, your church service, your work and every aspect of your life. Who wants to join this 40-Day Challenge?     A Season of Gratitude Easter is one of the most wonderful seasons of the year where we turn our focus to our Savior Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for all mankind. To Him, we are ever grateful for the blessings His atonement and resurrection brings to each of us! We'd like to share with you excerpts from a First Presidency Easter Message from May 1993: "During this Easter season we again rejoice with all of Christendom and gratefully commemorate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Words cannot fully describe the magnitude of the miracle that took place within the Garden Tomb that long-ago morning, but the angelic messenger captured its essence when he said, 'He is not here: for he is risen.' (Matt. 28:6.) "The Lord's resurrection completed the process of the Atonement that included His sinless life, His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, and His death on the cross. The Resurrection assured immortality for all, and the blessed Atonement provided a pathway to exaltation for those who will adhere to His gospel principles. "At this sacred season, we solemnly testify that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer of all the world. We know that He lives! We know that because He lives, we too shall live again." Also, read the testimonies of each member of our First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Savior's Atonement, Resurrection, and living reality from the April 2014 Liahona. "Jesus is the Son of God, our Savior and Redeemer. Because of Him, death is not the end, and life takes on new meaning. We can change, we can start over-and we can live again with God.
